About Me

My photo

Change. I've learned to embrace it, ride it out til the end. Sometimes I'm kicking and screaming, other times weeping with my eyes clinched tight. Once in awhile I ride like a dog in a car, head out the window snorting what life has to offer. Mother to young adult children, a marriage of thirty years, and a desert to mountain to valley waltz with God have shaped me into someone I never imagined I'd be. Life is short and I want to live it. Tears, sighs, laughter and change. Every morsel granted to me. Scrambled, shaken or stirred.

Scribbles and Scrambles ~ Tuesday Wuesday....What the What the???

I TOTALLY have the dog days of summer stupor thing going on.

It's hot, and when it's hot I just want to feel not hot.
Gladys NOT pottying...not when there's a hole to broaden in the 90+ full sun!!!

So I spent some time doing absolutely nothing yesterday, being a lazy bones...(okay, in my defense this was after three 20 minute potty breaks in a two hour period wherein very little potty-ing was going on in the 90+ degree full sun heat).

And I found some awesome statues/sculptures on Bored Panda.

I love at least half of them. They beat the socks off the ones we have in my hometown. I should probably take pictures and share someday.

We have an Edward Scissorhands welcome to the city sculpture. http://timesrepublican.com/page/content.detail/id/535325/Council-Bluffs-sculptures-drawing-mixed-reviews.html

We have huge rabbit heads. http://www.iowawestfoundation.org/community-transformation/iowa-west-public-art/art/deborah-masuoka/

And we have huge metal grappling guys full of holes. http://www.cbwrestlingclassic.com/#!venue/citr

Yep. I hope we get stallions running through water or a fish crashing through a building next!

OMG TOTALLY knew what you meant by Edward Scissorhands!!!! EVERY SINGLE TIME we cross the bridge and I see that MONSTROSITY I say "HELLO! And Welcome to Council Bluffs...WE GUNNA CUT YOU!" I HATE IT. It is not welcoming. It is not friendly. It is just awful, violent, ugh! Rex says the artist said it was to represent the winds ... WTheck?!?!?!?!?
Nice job CB!
I hate that sculputure!

The winds? Well, I can see the icy blizzards and post hail storms...but. I appreciate Rex's solidarity with fellow artists.

However. I prefer it to the holy wrestlers and the creepy rabbits. Those make me angry.
