Change. I've learned to embrace it, ride it out til the end. Sometimes I'm kicking and screaming, other times weeping with my eyes clinched tight. Once in awhile I ride like a dog in a car, head out the window snorting what life has to offer. Mother to young adult children, a marriage of thirty years, and a desert to mountain to valley waltz with God have shaped me into someone I never imagined I'd be. Life is short and I want to live it. Tears, sighs, laughter and change. Every morsel granted to me. Scrambled, shaken or stirred.

Happy New Year
My house is full of awesome people and very good puppies. Don't know what happened to Lily and Lola but Tyson, the visiting boxer who had surgery during his trip to Iowa, is on drugs.
More about all that later.
But for now...Happy New Year. I went to bed late and woke up in time to greet the morning. Don't know why I'm not exhausted, but the house is so quiet, the sun was crawling up the horizon, and the big Dr. Suessian Christmas Bulbs glowed as attractive bright beacons of happiness, so I grabbed the camera and the laptop and decided to give in to the urge to wax on about a beautiful and peaceful start to a new year.
The picture of the bulbs shows raw wood. More about THAT later, too.
I hope your 2009 is blessed beyond your wildest expectations. A little whimsy, some peace and enough moments of pure beauty that you lose a breath now and again.
