Serials and Scenarios ~ Gardein Fishless Filet Review

I can't say I'm a "fan" of fish sticks. Honestly, I never have been a fan of fishy smells or tastes. BUT I used to really enjoy shrimp so I realize this is kind of freakazillaish. Because shrimp is pretty fishy.

Rob loves fish though, and I thought I should give the fishless filet a shot. If I couldn't stomach more than a bite he'd eat them all. And if not that, then there are the dogs.

At $4.00 a bag and the Target convenience factor I had very little to lose.

I baked them. All of them. Rob ate his with tartar sauce. I used an orange soy concoction I had in my fridge. He asked twice if they were vegan.

The dogs didn't get any.

These freakish little things reminded me of the fish sticks I ate on occasion as a kid or when my kids were kids. The crispy outside, flaky inside tasting of the sea or lake,  and the aroma filling the kitchen with memories. Yeah. It's completely a fish filet. The breading is a heavier than a tempura batter but kind of reminded me of the lightness of tempura. Go to the link below and check out the nutrition stats and ingredients if you are interested. There are some recipes as well.

Bottom line. If you are looking for something fishy to scratch that little itch and you'd rather not eat meat, reel in some of  Gardein's Fishless Filets

Scribbles and Scrambles ~ Late to the FOURTH

Monday was Star Wars day. May the Fourth be with you. Monday, May 4th. Ha ha.

I didn't know till too late in the day to really celebrate it right.

But I have a little something for Star Wars fans. Or not. See, I have a little ewok type character who can do a mean impersonation of ... wait for it....

Princess Leia.

On Instagram it was noted that this had to be a love child between the princess and an ewok. I think maybe some other alien life form might be in the mix as well. She does have the perfect ear buns though. Almost as intricate as Leia's.

Scribbles and Scrambles...Good News and ... Well.

Have I told you that we've been training Gertrude and Gladys to ring bells to let us know they need to go out and use the potty?  I had some clearance Christmas jingle bells laying around and when I saw them during one of my massive 1000 items-outta-here-house-purgings I knew exactly what to do with them. I hung two on twine times three sets and looped them over the front and back door knobs and upstairs railing.

After several weeks without accidents I think the girls have mastered the potty bells! That's the good news. They even have the upstairs bells figured out.

Unfortunately, what I'm calling potty bells might actually be servant bells as in ring-for-the-maid bells. You see the bells get rung a little more often than they should. Since I have trained them that the bells get my immediate attention and purposeful activity they have taken notice.

Yesterday the bells rang and when I popped my head around the corner and asked if they needed to go potty the pups went to the squirrel garage and looked up. Ahhh.

I've told you that Beagles are very smart and determined...like three year olds and thirteen year olds all rolled into one. Yeah. I'm in trouble.
