Scribbles and Scrambles ~ Lesson 3

3) Relationships do not need money or expensive pursuits to be relationships. Tea at home, a phone call, praying for someone, loaning them a book, reading out loud from a book, a walk in the sunshine, a drive, a quick note, speaking blessings into lives, smiles...the list is endless.

Relationships are built through time, love and connectedness. Money is icing on the cake and icing is often overkill.

Too much sugar ain't sweet...

This is a great lesson...and awful timely!

Yes so true and I am afraid that with the dawn of the social network generation many relationships will never blossom into ones like those you describe. We are living in a world of dis-connectedness.

I for one still strive to be a friend in real time and in real space :-)

But, at the same time -- without online connectivity and social networks, I would not be in daily contact with you, sgb, nor would I be able to read Kelly's thoughts and encouraging posts. For both of these things, I am thankful. And, feel truly blessed that this kind of "connectedness" with you beautiful souls is possible...

Oh emb I do appreciate the connectivity with you and Kelly. It does help us to keep close when parted by miles. The three of us were grounded in the "old ways" first, so we can embrace this new online world without giving up the old. You know like the old song "Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold." So yes I agree that for many it is a fruitful adventure: circles grow and expand, knowledge is shared, stories are told, laughter and sorrows virtually felt. I do embrace both worlds and I am lucky that I "know" both worlds. We are not the ones I worry about...there are those out there who only know the online world and that is sad.

I love your conversation here, Ladies. And I agree. I love the technology that gives me the chance to shoot a thought directly or indirectly to someone I care about. (Or a chance to interact with beautiful souls who happen to live outside of my backyard.) But if cyber is all the relationship is it's just a shadow of what it could be. Face to face laughter is so much sweeter than an LOL. But sometimes, an LOL scratches an itch and can make the day a little brighter.

Hope that one day the three of us shall meet for an old fashioned gathering of coffee drinkers and storytellers.Until then ladies we will keep up with virtual guilding.
